The long reign of Queen Elizabeth the First was a time of economic growth, imperial expansion and incredible optimism for England. Elizabeth, or ‘The Virgin Queen’ (as she was known for her refusal to dilute her authority through marriage), led England into a new renaissance associated inextricably with William Shakespeare, Sir Walter Raleigh’s voyages of discovery to America and Sir Francis Drake’s crushing of the fearsome Spanish Armada.

The intricate pieces are cast from heavy crushed stone resin and finished with an elegant cardinal red and palisander cream colouring.
